Brian Rodd, CPA, CA - President & CEO
Brian Rodd is the President and CEO of Spartan Services overseeing all aspects of the business, including securitization, consumer finance, audit and reporting and portfolio servicing. As part of his role, Brian also designs and executes the overall direction and strategy of the Company, with the aid of his senior management team. Brian also plays a key role in business development by fostering relationships with life insurance and leasing companies.
Tom Howse, CFA - Executive Vice President
Tom Howse has been with Spartan since 2005. He is responsible for the management and credit compliance of the Company’s entire securitization portfolio which involves working with all of Spartan’s clients. His role includes performing due diligence and credit adjudication on new and existing Lessors, as well as consumer and commercial entities. Tom is a CFA® charterholder. Prior to working at Spartan he gained extensive experience in senior roles in risk management with structured finance products at Clarica Life Insurance Company and Sun Life Financial.
Shanker Basu, CA, CPA - Senior Vice President, Spartan Services Inc.
Shanker Basu has been with Spartan since 2007 and is responsible for the daily operational activities of the Audit & Compliance Team. His role includes the coordination of field audits, setting of risk ratings for Securitization sellers and the overall review of compliance standards. Shanker is also the chairperson of the Securcor Financial Group Risk Committee and in charge of Standby Servicing business of the Group, which at present handles more than 50 contracts. Shanker has extensive experience in senior positions in International Banking and structured finance with Deutsche Bank and Credit Agricole..
Andre Gignac, B.A., M.A., B.Sc., Director IT & Operations.
Andre Gignac is responsibile for daily operations of the Spartan Servicing Team. His role includes the management of infrastructure, and development of automation tools to meet client requirements. Prior to Spartan, Andre was a senior technical consultant with HP Enterprise for 16 years, developing enterprise level, and comprehensive computing solutions for Fortune 500 companies, domestic and abroad.
Catherine Law, Controller
Catherine Law has been with the Company since 2008. She is responsible for the operations of the Finance department. As part of this role, Catherine prepares daily cash flow analysis, monthly financial statement packages and annual audit and tax preparation. Her historical experience has evolved from Finance to now include Portfolio Administration (lease administration, customer service and collections).
Lucy Smallbone, Director Audit & Compliance
Lucy Smallbone has been with Spartan since 2005. She is responsible for early termination, accounts receivable, cash reserve and portfolio reporting for all securitization customers and funding partners. Lucy also conducts internal audit reviews for all securitization customers and maintains the data for Spartan’s Standby Servicing clients. Lucy has been in the leasing industry for 20 years. Prior to Spartan, Lucy held the position of Financial Analyst and Leasing Manager at Applewood Chevrolet.
